Eric Brown, OD

Dr. Eric Brown is originally a native of East Tennessee – go, Volunteers! He received his Bachelor of Science in biology at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN in 1994. After working as a medical research assistant for several years, he earned his doctorate degree from Southern College of Optometry in 2000. The amazing Pacific Northwest beckoned, and Dr. Brown relocated to Portland. He has been practicing optometry here for the last 23 years.

Dr. Brown is excited to join Dr. Lyons and her amazing team at Lyons Eye. He has a passion for primary eye care and looks forward to helping patients see their very best, whether with carefully prescribed glasses, specialty contact lenses or surgical pre/post-operative care. Since he is incredibly particular about his own vision, Dr. Brown recognizes that it often takes a little extra time to dial things in for each of his patients – and he knows that this is time well spent. He likes to appreciate the nuances of each patient in front of him and knows how important it is to incorporate a genuine sense of empathy, responsibility and humor into the care plan for each individual.

When not helping patients at Lyons Eye, Dr. Brown is kept busy with his partner, two cats and a crazy dog. Whether heading off to a trail head, jumping on bikes, setting up a long nerdy boardgame or hopping on a plane, there’s always something interesting (and probably exhausting) going on.
